Create more time for the tasks that really matter by becoming a “greater delegator.”
To help you in your effort to reassign some of your tasks to others, ask yourself these questions:
• Am I doing jobs that would be more appropriate for others to do?
• Am I still treating my older children as though they are small and need me to do everything
for them? (This isn’t fair to you or to them.)
• Do I fail to hire outside help because I think I should do it all?
• Am I doing it all to prove I’m needed?
• Do I hate to impose on others?
• Am I not sure how to go about delegating to others?
• Do I feel it’s easier to do it myself, rather than supervise others?
• Am I neglecting to train my younger children to be independent and helpful?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, it’s time to start asking others to share the load. You may be surprised how happily others go along with the new division of labor. Start today! You’ll be glad you did.
